Crochet scarf is a perfect addition to any garment. Well, I never thought I would be saying this some years ago. As I thought crochet scarf are for grandmothers. But here I am, loving all things crochets.

Scarfs are now my newest found love that I want to make crochet scarfs in all colors. This easy crochet scarf pattern comes handy and in no time, you’d find yourself making a beautiful scarf that can pass as a wrap!!!

This Crochet scarf pattern uses different stitches in the various sections which means you won’t get bored making this pattern. Looking for a stash busting pattern? Then this pattern is your go to.

Diaphanous crochet scarf pattern on Ravelry

The diaphanous scarf pattern uses any #3 light weight yarn.

Finished dimension – 60″ by 18″

But can be customized to your desired length. This pattern is rated Easy in terms of the level of difficulty. You would need to know how to work Double crochet 3 stitches together and picot stitch

Pattern instructions for this crochet scarf pattern

Section 1 with A

Row 1: Ch 4, 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, turn (3 dc)

Row 2: Ch 3, dc in first st, dc across, turn (4 dc)

Row 3: Ch 3, 2 dc in first st, dc in last 3 sts, turn.

(6 dc)

Row 4: Ch 3, dc in same st, dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in last st, turn. (8 dc)

Row 5: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, dc in next 7sts, turn (10 dc)

Row 6: Ch 3, dc in same st, dc till last st, 2 dc in last st, turn. (12 dc)

Row 7: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, dc across, turn (14 dc)

Rows 8 – 30: Repeat Row 6 and 7. (60 dc)

Row 31:Ch 3, dc in same st, dc in each st across, turn. (61 dc)

Section 2

Row 32 – 44: Ch 3, dc in next st, dc in each st across, turn. (61 dc)

Row 45:  Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1 here and throughout), skip next st, dc in next, * ch 1, skip next st, dc in next, rep from * to end, turn. (31 dc, 30 ch 1 sps)

Rows 46 – 54: Rep Row 45

Row 55: Ch 3, dc in each st across, turn. (61 dc)

Row 56: Ch 4, skip next st, dc in next, * ch 1, skip next st, dc in next, rep from * to end, turn. (31 dc, 30 ch 1 sps)

Rows 57 – 61: Rep Row 55 and 56

Fasten off A, join B

Row 62: Ch 4, skip next st, dc in next, * ch 1, skip next st, dc in next, rep from * to end, turn. (30 dc, 31 ch 1 sps)

Rows 63 – 71: Rep Row 62

Row 72: Ch 3, dc in each st across, turn. (61 dc)

Row 73: Ch 4, skip next st, dc in next, * ch 1, skip next st, dc in next, rep from * to end, turn. (31 dc, 30 ch 1 sps)

Row 74 – 78: Rep Row 72 and 73

Fasten off B, join A

Row 2:Ch 3, dc3tog, *ch 2, dc3tog, repeat from * to end, turn. (20 dc3tog, dc)

Row 3: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, *skip ch 2 sp, 3 dc in nextst(dc3tog sp), repeat from * to last st, dc, turn. (20 dc clusters, dc)

Fasten off A, join B

Fasten off B, join A

Rows 24 – 34: Rep Row 2 and 3

Row 35: Ch 3, dc in each st across, including ch 2 sps turn. (61 dc)

Row 36: Ch 4, skip next st, dc in next, *skip next st, ch 1, dc in next, rep from * to end, turn. (31 dc, 30 ch 1 sps) 

Rows 37 – 41: Rep Row 35 – 37

Rows 42 – 51: Ch 4, skip next st, dc in next, * ch 1, skip next st, dc in next, rep from * to end, turn. (31 dc, 30 ch 1 sps)

Fasten off A, join B

Rows 52 – 58:Rep Row 35 – 36

Rows 59 – 65: Ch 4, *skip next st, ch 1, dc in next, rep from * to end, turn. (31 dc, 30ch 1 sps) 

Edging

With B, sc around, ch 1 at each corner.

Fasten off and weave in ends

Lace

With B, working on the longer side, join yarn with a slst to beginning of Row 1

Row 1: Ch 5(counts as dc + ch 2), * skip next 2 sts, dc in next, ch 2, repeat from * to last st, dc, turn. (98 dc, 97 ch sps)

Row 3: Ch 3, *(3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in ch 6 sps, (ch 1, sc ch 1) in next ch 6 sp, rep from * to end, dc in last st, turn.(145 dc, 24 ch 3 sps, 25sc, 46 ch 1 sps)

Row 4: Ch 3, skip ch 1 sp, sc in next st, ch 1, skip next 3 sts, sc in ch 3, *ch 13, sc in next ch 3 sp, rep from * to end, skip last 3 sts, sc in last s, turn, (23 ch sps, 26 sc)

Row 5: Ch 3, *(dc, 1 picot) 13 times in ch 13 sp,sc in next 5 chs, (sc, 1 picot) in next 3 chains, sc in last 5 chs, rep from * to last ch 13 sp, dc in last st.(156 dc, 110sc)

Fasten off, weave in ends.

Block to measurement

Optional – add tassels to the 3 edges

Beads

Using size 3 (or any appropriate size) and a size 10 thread, thread in the beads, with 30 beads per section, thread into alternate ends of the lace.

Secure firmly after each section.

Weave in ends, block your wrap.
