With so many uncertainties out there and so many people indoors, a free crochet blanket that can be completed over few days is appropriate. This project is also good for anyone finding it difficult to concentrate on a time consuming project, as it is a mindless crochet blanket pattern.

Being Mindless Crochet pattern, it does not require much concentration as you do not need to count any number of sts for a repeat in a row. Find the free pattern below or get the ad-free PDF file on Ravelry or Esty, Link below.

The Pattern uses a Super Chunky Yarn # 6 weight yarn, (chenille – style yarn) because I love the texture of this yarn for blankets and also wanted a fast project without holes even though the blanket is for my husband and myself, our Toddler also uses it once in a while.

Bulky yarn equals Faster Crochet Projects

The Fun Weekend Crochet Blanket is presently used as a Crochet along in my Facebook Group, do check out the yarn choices and different sizes others are making here. Come ask your Questions in the group.

Can I use any other yarn weight and hook sizes?

Absolutely!!!!! You can use any yarn type and weights with appropriate hook sizes for this fun weekend blanket. I have included different sizes and measurements to help you decide on how wide and long your blanket should be.

Another Bonus is that you can make this Blanket into any dimensions you want. The tables below gives insight on to how many panels are used and how wide/long they are for the sizes available.

Do not get overwhelmed with the numbers, they are only a guide.

Remember that this is meant to be fun, do not stress yourself on yarn choices. Think happy thoughts while making this blanket and most importantly, wrap yourself in so much love it would bring.

  1. Please kindly read through the pattern before starting.
  2. Any yarn weight can be used in colors of your choice. Make sure you have a starting chain that is 8(9, 13, 17, 17)” less than desired width of your blanket, this would be your border.
  3. If using another weight of yarn, use the measurement provided as a guide
  4. Use the Drawing/Schematics as a guide
  5. Chains at the beginning of the rows do not count as a stitch, unless stated.
  6. To join next color, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over, pull up, having 2 loops on your hook, drop the color to be changed and pick up the new color, pull through the loops using the new color.
