Quick and Simple Crochet Baby Blanket Free Pattern

Supplies needed for this project:

Yarn – Any worsted-weight yarn in the color of your choice.

Brava Worsted Weight, #4 (100% Acrylic, 218 yards per 3.5oz/100g).

Hook – 6 mm Crochet Hook

Gauge – 14 sts over 11 rows = 10 cm/4” square made in hdc

3. Chains at the beginning of the rows/rounds do not count as a stitch.

Section 1- Main Panel

With A, 153

Row 1: Hdc in 3rd chain from hook and in each ch across, turn. 151 hdc

Row 2: Ch 1, hdc in each st across, turn. 151 hdc

Row 3: Ch 2, dc in first st, *ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st, rep from * to end, turn. 75 ch sps, 76 dc

Row 4: Ch 1, hdc in first st, *hdc in ch 1 sp, hdc in next st, rep from * to end, turn. 151 hdc

Rep Rows 2 – 4 until the Rectangle measures 38”

End with Row 2

Edging 

Continue with color A

Ch 2, hdc in each st around, aim for 2 hdc at each corner, 1 hdc in each hdc st and 2 hdc in each dc st, join with a sl st to the beginning ch.

Fasten off.

Edging

Join Color B with a sl st to any of the corners.

Round 1: Ch 2, Hdc evenly around the perimeter of the collar area, join with a sl st to the beginning ch.

Rounds 2 – 6: Ch 2, in 3rd Loop, hdc in each st around, join with a sl st to the beginning ch.

Fasten off, sew in ends

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as a st), 3 dc in first ch sp, *ch 4, sc in next st, ch 4, 4 dc in next ch sp, rep from * until last 12 ch sps, fasten off A, join B. **Ch 2, skip next ch sp, sc in next st, ch 5, sc in same st, ch 2, skip next ch sp, sc in next st, rep from ** to end, turn. 6 ch-5 sps, 28 sc, 112 dc

Row 3: With B, ch 1, sc in first ch sp, *(5 dc, ch 3, 5 dc) in ch 5 sp, skip next ch 2 sp, sc in next ch 2 sp, rep from * until last ch 5 sp, (5 dc, ch 3, 5 dc) in ch 5 sp, sl st to the next ch 2 sp.

Weave in all ends.

To assemble the flower:

  • Start from the ruffled end.
  • Roll circularly and gradually expand the circle until you have completed the whole piece.
  • Secure with yarn at different spots on the base.

·   Sew it ends.

With the remaining yarn on the rose, sew tightly to the blanket.
