With your desired color. 

The prototypes were made in Red, White, and Green.

Round 1: In a magic ring, ch 1(does not count as st here and throughout), 6 sc in magic ring, join with a sl st to the beginning chain. 6 sc

Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, join. 12 sc 

Round 3: Ch 1, *2 sc in first st, sc in next st, rep from * to the end, join. 18 sc 

Round 4: Ch 1, *2 sc in first st, sc in next 2 sts, rep from * to the end, join. 24 sc

Body

There are two options for the Hat.

Option 1

Wide Brim

Round 1: Ch 1, in BLO, sc in each st around, join. 24 sc

In both loops from here on.

Rounds 2 – 16: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join. 24 sc

Section 2: Wide Brim 

Round 1: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, join. 48 sc

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join. 48 sc

Round 3: Ch 1, sl st in each st around, join. 48 sts

Option 2: Straight Brim

Round 1: Ch 1, in BLO, sc in each st around, join. 24 sc

In both loops from here on.

Rounds 2 – 6: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join. 24 sc

Fasten off White, join Red

Rounds 7 – 8: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join. 24 sc

Fasten off Red, join White

Rounds 9 – 10: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join. 24 sc

Fasten off White, join Red

Round 11: Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join. 24 hdc

Sew in all loose ends. 

To accessories your Wine bottle cap 

Option 1: Large bow for the wide-brim hat

In a color of your choice. chain 135 and make a bow with the chain

Sew the bow to the lower end of the hat at the junction between the body and the brim.

Option 2: Small bow for the straight brim of the straight hat.
