Instructions for the simple crochet star-free pattern

Round 1: In a magic ring, ch 1, 12 hdc, join with a sl st to the beginning ch. 12 hdc
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 hdc in each st, join with a sl st to the beginning ch. 24 hdc
Round 3: Ch 3 (counts as sc + ch 2), *skip next st, sc in next st, ch 2, rep from * to last st, skip last st, join with a sl st to the 1st ch from the beginning ch. 12 ch-sp/sc
Round 4: Ch 6 (counts as sc + ch 5), *skip next ch sp, sc in next st, ch 5, rep from * to last ch sp, skip last ch sp, join with a sl st to the 1st ch from the beginning ch. 12 ch-sp/sc
Round 5: Ch 1, 2 sc into the first ch sp, *ch 9 sc in next ch sp, ch 4, sc in next ch sp, rep from * to end, join with a sl st to the beginning ch. 12 ch-sp/sc

You could chain 25, sl st to the first chain to create a loop for hanging.

Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st, join with a sl st to the beginning ch. 24 sc
Round 3: Ch 3 (counts as sc + ch 2), *skip next st, sc in next st, ch 2, rep from * to last st, skip last st, join with a sl st to the 1st ch from the beginning ch. 12 ch-sp/sc
Round 4: *Ch 5, sc in next ch sp, ch 3, sc in next ch sp, rep from * to end, join with a sl st to the beginning ch. 12 ch-sp/sc
Round 5: Ch 1, *5 sc, ch 3, 5 sc in next ch sp, sc in next ch sp, rep from * until the last ch sp, sl st to the beginning ch.

Round 1: In a magic ring, ch 1, 12 hdc, join into the beginning ch. 12 hdc
Round 2: *Ch 8, sl st into the 5th ch from hook, ch 3, sl st into the next st on the panel, hdc in next st, rep from * until the end. Join with a sl st to the first ch from the beginning. 6-star Spikes.
Fasten off.
