Crochet Christmas Ornament Free Pattern

Materials for the Christmas Ornament
Yarn – Paintbox Simply DK, #3 lightweight (100% Acrylic 302 yards/276 m per 3.5 oz/100g skein)
- Ball in White = MC
- Ball in Red = CC
Estimated Yardage = 30 yards
Hook and other materials
4.5 mm Crochet Hook
Stitch marker – 3 pcs
Elastic Hair tie (3” in diameter)
Gauge
Gauge isn’t important to this project.

Instructions for the Christmas ornaments
Round 1: With MC, join yarn to the hairband with asl st, ch 1, 52 sc evenly around the band, join with a sl st to beginning ch. 52 sc

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across, join with a sl st to beginning ch. 52 sc
Round 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc from here), *skip next 3 sts, dc in next st, ch 5, dc in same st, rep from * till last 2 sts, skip last 2 sts, dc in first st (ch 3 sp), ch 5, join with a sl st to 3rd ch. 13 ch 5 sps, 26 dc
Round 4: Ch 1, (4 sc, ch 2, 4 sc) in each ch 5 sp, join with a sl st to beginning ch 1.
Leave a long tail for hanging or chain 20 sl st to the first chain.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Bow
Step 1: With CC, chain 60, cut yarn.
Step 2: Place stitch markers on the 12th 30th, and 48th chains
Step 3: Join the 3 chains with a marker and a sl st.
Step 4: Secure the 3 sts together with yarn
Step 5: With the remaining yarn, sew the bow to the main part made in section 1.
Weave in ends.
Optional – spray your ornament to stiffen it.
