4.5 mm Crochet Hook
Yarn needle
GAUGE
5 dc clusters over 10 Rows = 10cm/4” Square
Adjust hook size if necessary, to obtain gauge.

Increase/decrease your starting chains for a wider/smaller finished item.

Any #3 weight of yarns can be substituted
Chains at the beginning of Rows do not count as a stitch.
Each dc cluster is worked stacked on previous dc clusters.

Slip Stitch – sl st
Single Crochet – sc
Double Crochet 2 stitches together– dc2tog

Double crochet Cluster = [dc2tog, ch 1, dc2tog] in indicated stitch.

Instructions for the Christmas crochet present applique
Row 1: With A, chain 20, sc in 2nd ch and in each ch across, turn. 19 sc
Row 2: Ch 2, dc in first st, *skip next 2 sts, dc cluster in next st, rep * 1 more time, with B, rep * one time, with A, rep * 2 more times, skip next 2 sts, dc in last st, turn. 5 dc cluster, 2 dc.
Row 3: With A, Ch 2, dc in first st, working only into ch 1 sps, dc cluster in next 2 ch 1 sps, with B, dc cluster in next ch 1 sp, with A, dc in next 3 ch 1 sps, dc in last st, turn. 5 dc cluster, 2 dc.
Rows 4 – 5: Rep Row 3
Row 6: With B, Ch 2, dc in first st, working only into ch 1 sps, dc cluster in ch 1 sps, dc in last st, turn. 5 dc cluster, 2 dc.
Rows 7 – 10: Rep Row 3.
Edging
Row 11: With A, *ch 1, turn, working across the long edge, sc in each st (aim for 2 sc in each ch 2/dc), ch 1, sc in next 20 sts, ch 1, rep from * join with a sl st to beginning ch.
Coils
Join B with a sl st to first half of cluster made with A, chain 21, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, sl st to 2nd half of cluster made with A, chain 21, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across.
Fasten off.
Weave in ends.

Instructions for the Christmas ornaments
Round 1: With MC, join yarn to the hairband with asl st, ch 1, 52 sc evenly around the band, join with a sl st to beginning ch. 52 sc

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across, join with a sl st to beginning ch. 52 sc
Round 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc from here), *skip next 3 sts, dc in next st, ch 5, dc in same st, rep from * till last 2 sts, skip last 2 sts, dc in first st (ch 3 sp), ch 5, join with a sl st to 3rd ch. 13 ch 5 sps, 26 dc
Round 4: Ch 1, (4 sc, ch 2, 4 sc) in each ch 5 sp, join with a sl st to beginning ch 1.
Leave a long tail for hanging or chain 20 sl st to first chain.
Fasten off, weave in ends.
Bow
Step 1: With CC, chain 60, cut yarn.
Step 2: Place stitch markers on the 12th 30th and 48th chains
Step 3: Join the 3 chains with marker together with a sl st.
Step 4: Secure the 3 sts together with yarn
Step 5: With the remaining yarn, sew the bow to the main part made in section 1.
Weave in ends.
Optional – spray your ornament to stiffen it.
