One can never have too many Christmas trees if you ask me. The traditional Christmas tree might be too big, especially when space is of the essence. You might also want to place more trees as decorations at strategic places in and outside of your home.
Growing up, I remembered making wall-mounted Trees with Tinsels. This is the inspiration behind this design. All I wanted was to replicate that and show my son.
Some years ago, I made this beautiful crochet Christmas tree which comes in 3 different sizes. Which is the inspiration behind this quick tree pattern.
The uniqueness of this super-fast tree pattern is the fact that it can be made into either a 3D or 2D depending on the location placed.

This easy pattern makes the best outdoor Christmas Tree, the fact that it’s crocheted makes it even more adaptable as you can customize yours. It is super easy to make this into your desired size.

Materials for this easy crochet wall-mounted Christmas Tree Pattern
YARN – You can make this using any weight of yarn available to you. This version was made using a Worsted/Aran weight.
- Stylecraft Special Aran, #4 (100% acrylic 157 yards/144m per 3.5 oz/100g skein)
2 (3, 4) skeins in Green
ESTIMATED YARDAGE
300 (450, 600) yards
- HOOK AND OTHER MATERIALSUS size I/9 (5.5 mm)
- Florist wire (Insulated – 2.0mm) or Christmas Metal Tree
- Wire cutter
- Pins
- Marker or chalk
- Christmas Light – Prototype made using 100 LED Battery Operated String Christmas Light.
- GAUGE
14 sts x 10 rows = 10cm/4” measured over hdc
Adjust hook size if necessary, to obtain gauge.

You can customize the size of your Tree by increasing or reducing the number of chains made. There is complete instruction as to how to go about customizing your length of yours in the PDF version.
PATTERN NOTES
- Please kindly read through the pattern before starting.
- Any #4 weight of yarns can be substituted
- Chains at the beginning of rows do not count as a stitch.
- Stitch count in parenthesis is interpreted as follows – small (medium, large)
FINISHED MEASUREMENT

- Medium – 12”
- Large – 18”
Instructions for this crochet wall-mounted Christmas Tree Pattern
Section 1: Leaves, make 2.
Chain 154 (220, 300) – in multiples of 6 + 4
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, *ch 1, skip 2 chs, dc in next ch, ch 1, skip 2 chs, 2 dc in next ch, rep from * across, ending with 2 dc, turn.
25 – 2 dc/ 24 dc (36 – 2 dc/35 dc, 50 -2 dc/49 dc)
Row 2: Ch 1, *working sideways around post (dc), work 5 dc in first st, ch 1, working sideways around next post (dc), work 5 dc in next st, skip ch 1 sp, sc in next dc, skip ch 1 sp. Rep from * across.
25 shells / 24 sc (36 shells/35 sc, 50 shells s/49 sc)
Join both together.
Fasten off, weave in ends.
For a much taller tree, make more leaves
Section 2: – Adding the Wire
1. Pick up the just-completed leaves, and wire.
2. Measure your desired length of wire, should be about 8” longer than the length of your leaves.
With the right side of the leave facing you –
3. Crocheting over the wire, ch 1, sc across.
4. Make a coil on both ends to secure the leaves from pulling out.
Pick your desired location to place the mini tree.
Place the pins in a triangular shape, and space accordingly.
Use the image in the pdf as a guide.
* Pick the bottom (base), either with a ruler or eyeball it, and mark it as 2 and 3 above.
* Draw an imaginary triangle from the Apex to the base.
The closer your intervals are to each other the compart the look.
* Using a marker or a chalk, mark 1” intervals between the apex and the base, as indicated above (A to F).
* Evenly place pins between the apex and the base.
Mounting your tree
* Start from the apex
* In a zig-zag form, start connecting your leaves, securing it to the pins.
* Take a step back and check to be happy
with the spacing, if not re-adjust it.
Adding Accessories
*Place your star on the apex, and string the Christmas Light, just as you did with the leaves.
* Decorate with ornaments.
For 3D Effects
Look for a suitable corner in/outside the house.
