Instruction for the slouchy beanie crochet
Section 1 – Brim – slouchy crochet beanie
With MC – Chain 60 (65, 70, 75, 80) Join with a sl st with the first chain.
The foundation chain should be a good fit around your head.
Round 1: Ch 2, hdc in each ch around, join with a sl st, place stitch marker, and move it after each round. 60 (65, 70, 75, 80) hdc
Rounds 2 – 5: In 3rd loop, hdc in each st around. 60 (65, 70, 75, 80) hdc
Section 2 – Body
Round 6: In FLO, hdc in each st around. 60 (65, 70, 75, 80) hdc
Rounds 7 – 9: In both loops, hdc in each st around. 60 (65, 70, 75, 80) hdc
Fasten off MC, join CC
Round 10: Hdc in each st around. 60 (65, 70, 75, 80) hdc Round 11: Hdc in first 5 sts, *make one loop, hdc in next 5 sts, rep from * until the end, make one loop. 60 (65, 70, 75, 80) hdc, 12 (13, 14, 15, 16) loops
Round 12: Hdc in each st around, note to keep all loops unworked and keep all them on the right side. 60 (65, 70, 75, 80) hdc
Note that there are no loops made in Round 12

- Keep your loops (ch 12) in a straight line, and place a stitch marker in the first chain of each loop, this would help you keep track of where to put the next loop.
Rounds 13 – 16 (18, 20, 20, 20): Rep rounds 11 – 12.
Reduce the number of repeats if yours comes out too long
Braiding the loops
- Start with the first 2 vertical ch 12 (loops), pass second loop up through the first loop loop
- Pass the third loop through the second loop
- Pass the fourth through the third, continue until all loops have been braided, and secure with a stitch marker
- Repeat the instructions with the remaining sets of loops, each vertical row at a time.
Round 17 (19, 21, 21, 21): Hdc in first stitch, pick up the first loop left, hdc over this loop, hdc in next 5 sts, slip off the second loop and work hdc through it, hdc in each of the remaining sts around, join. 60 (65, 70, 75, 80) hdc
Fasten off CC, join MC.
