PM on the active loop, cut off the yarn, leave a tail to weave in and go to Body

Body

Before we start working on the body, we seam the shoulders together using your preferred method. I used the mattress stitch.

Using the 6.5mm double ended Tunisian hook, pick up the active loop on the Front. We will start working in the round now. Attach a second skein of yarn to start the RetP to work simultaneously with the FwdP.

Row 1: Tfs 75 (85, 95, 107, 115, 123, 129, 139)

(this includes the edge stitch of the front)

Pick up the active loop from Back (remove Stitch Marker),

Tfs 51 (57, 63, 67, 75, 83, 93, 99), edge stitch PM at the first Tfs, move this along the rows as you work. RetP – (128, 144, 160, 176, 192, 208, 224, 240 st).

Row 2: Tfs around. RetP – (128, 144, 160, 176, 192, 208, 224, 240 st).

Repeat Row 2 until your piece measures approximately 2.75 (3, 3.25, 3.25, 3.5, 3.75, 3.75, 4)“ from the bottom of the arm hole. Your top should be hitting you just above the bottom of your bust. The weight of the top will pull it down and it will hug your bosom when your top is finished. If you need to add length before the waist shaping to get there, continue repeating Row 2 until you reach the desired length.

Waist shaping

Repeat Row 4 until the top measures 6 (6, 6, 6.5, 6.5, 6.5, 6.75, 6.75)” from the bottom of the armhole. It should fall right above your natural waist. The weight of the peplum will pull it down some. Add additional length if needed.

Peplum

I get my inspiration from different small things; I see a stitch I like, a shape, a texture or a combination of colours. For this particular pattern, I got inspiration from my postpartum body. I felt incredibly good about my body, having been able to grow a perfect tiny human in it. I wanted to honour all bodies and create a summer top that looks beautiful on all bodies, because I believe all bodies are beautiful! This top has – 1/+1″ of ease, depending on your bust size.
