Meet the new addition to my crochet dresses, the fall glow crochet A-line dress with a peplum attached for extra fun.

After designing the spring glow top, I knew the design would look great as a dress.

Measurements for the Crochet A Line dress

This dress is available in 9 different sizes, with the written instructions color-coded for each size stitch count for ease of understanding. Size(s) and color codes – XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL)

Pick a size using your bust measurement.

Bust Measurement: 28 – 30 (32 -34, 38 – 40, 42 – 44, 46 – 48, 50 – 52, 54 – 56, 58 – 60, 62 – 64)”

Armhole Circumference: 11 (12, 13, 14, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20)” 

Length of Dress: 28” Including the flairs. 

Flair measures 5” both.

Length of Sleeves: 8 (9, 10,12, 14, 14, 15, 15, 16)” 

The modeled garment is shown in M, with about 1” of Positive Ease

Materials for this V neck A Line Crochet Dress

Yarn – For this Crochet A Line Dress Pattern, a DK weight yarn in color s of your choice can be used.

The prototype was made using: Hobbii Kind Feathers, #3 lightweight (100% Acrylic, 257 yards/235 m per 3.75 oz/100g Skein)

Terms – US Terminology

Gauge

16 sts over 10 Rows = 4 x 4” made in dc, before blocking.

Instructions for the gauge

With 4.5mm crochet hook:

Row 1: Chain 18, dc in 3rd ch and in each ch across, turn. 16 dc

Rows 2 – 10: Ch 2, dc in each st across, turn. 16 dc

Adjust hook size if necessary, to obtain gauge.

Pattern Notes

  1. Please kindly read through the pattern before starting.
  2. Beginning chains do not count as a stitch throughout the pattern.
  3. Stitch count is written after each row/round, with the smallest XS written first and the other in the ().
  4. Stitch count written in black is for all sizes but at some points, the stitch counts are color-coded for clarity, i.e. XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL)
  5. When crocheting a row above the lace stitch (xdcl), the chain spaces would be skipped except otherwise noted.

Chain/chains – ch/chs

Single Crochet – sc

Half double crochet – hdc

Double crochet – dc

Slip Stitch – sl st

Special Stitches

Crossed double crochet lace (xdcl)

First row of xdcl = *Skip next st, dc in next st, Ch 1, crocheting over the dc just made into the skipped st, yarn over, insert hook into skipped stitch and yarn over (3 loops on the hook), yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through the remaining 2 loops

Rep from * to the end

Subsequent rows/rounds of xdcl =

 *Skip the first leg of xdcl and ch sp, dc in the second leg of xdcl, ch 1, crocheting over the dc just made into the first leg of xdcl, yarn over, insert hook into skipped stitch and yarn over (3 loops on the hook), yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through the remaining 2 loops

Rep from * to the end.

Shell – (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in indicated stitch

Construction Notes

  1. This dress is worked in 3 sections.
  2. Section 1 – YOKE – Starts from the neckline and is made in rows, after which the sleeve opening is created, and the remaining part of the body is made in rounds.
  3. Section 2 – The skirt is then continued in rounds.
  4. Section 3 – The sleeves are made in rounds.
  5. No sewing is needed.
