How to Crochet Halloween Wreath

Section 1: Wreath covering

With Color A

Chain 18

The length should be adjusted to wrap around the ring.

Row 1: Hdc in 3rd chain from hook, and in each chain across, turn 16 hdc

Working in BLO from here until the end.

Row 2: Ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn (16hdc)

Row 3 – end: repeat Row 2.

Continue the repeats until you have enough length to wrap around the ring.

Do not fasten off.

To assemble the wreath cover

Step 1 – Wreath ring and cover.

Fold the wreath cover around the foam wreath and sew it up using a darning needle or crochet hook.

Aim to sew/join the sides on the outer side of the wreath to make joining the spider web lace easier.

Sew/join the ends together using either a darning needle or a crochet hook.

Weave in all ends and fasten off.

Set aside.

To accessories the wreath

Step 1: Spider lace to the wreath

  • Place the spider web inside the wreath hole.
  • With Color B, thread the yarn through each ch sp of the lace and into the stitches on the ridge created when joining the wreath cover. Repeat this process until you have completely used up the ch sps.
  • Make sure to space the sts on the wreath evenly.
  • Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Step 2: Spiders to the wreath

Pickup the wreath

Tack the spiders to the wreath using stitch markers and check their positioning to ensure satisfaction.

Using a darning needle or crochet hook, join the accessories to the upper part of the wreath.

Step 3: Pumpkins to the wreath

  • Stack the pumpkins on each other and secure the set firmly by passing yarn through the 3 layers.
  • You can secure the stacked pumpkins to the spider web lace or the wreath.
  • You can also decide to go with just one pumpkin.
  • Or tack the pumpkins individually to different slots on the wreath.

Hanging Options

I have played with different locations in my house to place my Halloween wreath.

You can hang it on the door, on a table, or on the wall.

  • I prefer using the yarn on the back of the wreath used to secure the spider web lace to the wreath covering.
  • You can also use the spider’s rope.

Weave in all ends.

Enjoy your Crochet Halloween Wreath.
