Crochet Summer Top Pattern: Bliss in Purple

When I designed this Summer crochet Top pattern, It took me only a few hours because of the fast and easy stitches used. If you know how to make double crochet, chains, and sc, then you can make his Top!

Yarn

Hand Dyed Yarn (Kernodesigns) – DK, #3 lightweight (75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon, 246 yards/225 m per 3.5 oz/100g skein) 

2 (3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5) Skeins in Purple

Estimated Yardage

490 yards/448 m (500 yards/457 m, 605 yards/560m, 700 yards/640 m, 800 yards/732 m, 900 yards/822 m, 980 yards/896 m, 1000 yards/914 m, 1200 yards/1097 m) 

Hook and other Materials

US size H (5 mm) Crochet Hook.

Yarn needle

       Stitch Markers (4 pieces)

       Buttons (7 – 11 pieces) 18mm each

Gauge

18 sts over 10 Rows = 10 cm

square/4” made in dc, before blocking.

Adjust hook size if necessary, to obtain gauge.

Similar #3 weight yarn can be substituted, please check the gauge.

Chain 3 at the beginning of the rows counts as a stitch.

Stitch counts are written with the smallest XS written first and others in ().

Stitch counts written in black are for all sizes. Individual sizes are color-coded when repeats and stitch counts are different. i.e. XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL)

V Stitch is worked on previous V stitch.

Construction Notes

  1. This Top is worked in rows.
  2. The pattern is worked from Top-down so it can be easily adjusted as you go to customize your fit.
  3. No sewing is required.

Adjustments/fittings

1.     Length: increase or decrease the repeats for part of the Body.

2.     Armpit: 

Too tight? Increase the number of repeats when splitting for sleeves before joining to work in one piece.

Too loose: Sew together to the desired length once completed.

3.     Bust/fitting: Once you join in section 2, check to fit. If too tight, frog back to reduce your increase at the split for sleeves.
