Crochet sweater vest pattern
A crochet sweater vest with a beautiful texture is such a fun way to perfect a new stitch combination while making yourself a sweater perfect for days when the weather isn’t too hot.

Materials needed for this easy textured crochet sweater vest pattern
Yarn – CotLin Reflections, Double Knit, #3 (70% Cotton, 30% Linen, 246 yards/225m per 3.5 oz/100g Hank)

Special note for this crochet sweater vest pattern
- This pattern is worked flat, left to right till you get half the measurement needed.
- You then shape the neck by turning your work 90°
- Chains at the beginning of each row do not count as a stitch.
- To prevent working in a stitch twice, you may place a stitch marker on each stitch with a Treble.

Place stitch markers on each tip of the shoulder, as shown in the picture below (the part with black arrows)
Turn work 90°, ch 1 (working from the edge towards the neck)
Row 1: sc in each of the edges evenly till you reach the 1st stitch marker, ch 1 turn
Row 2: Sc2tog, sc in each of the sts, ch1 turn
Row 3: sc in each of the sts across
Repeat Row 2 and row 3 alternatively 6 (6, 8, 8, 10, 10, 10, 10) more times
Do not fasten off, ch 1 work 1 sc across the neckline over to the opposite edge to the 2nd stitch marker, continue with the left shoulder
Left shoulder
Working towards the edge from the neckline from the second stitch marker
Row 1: sc in each of the edges evenly, making sure you have the SAME NUMBER OF STS WITH RIGHT SHOULDER CH1 turn
Row 2: Sc in each of the sts till last 2 sts, Sc2tog, ch 1 turn
Row 3: sc in each of the sts across, turn.
Repeat Row 2 and row 3 alternatively 6 (6, 8, 8, 10, 10, 10, 10) more times
Do not fasten off, ch1, turn, working towards the neckline
Sc in each edge across the neckline.
Cut yarn and fasten off.
Shape armhole
- Place both panels on each other with the right side facing each other, and sew the shoulder straps together.
- Armhole – Count 7, 8, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 13, Trebles stitches on each side of both panels and place stitch markers. That’s 4 stitch markers, 2 in the front, 2 in the back (note this must be a little loose and must be comfortable)
- On the right side – Start with the front panel and work towards the back panel – attach yarn with a sl st, ch 1, working towards the shoulder seam and down to the back panel, work sc in each of the edges till you reach the second stitch marker. Repeat or the other arm (aim for a multiple of 4)
- From the stitch markers, sew the 2 sides together towards the lower end.
- Sew in ends.
Section 2 of crochet sweater vest Body Lower Edging
Aim for stitch count in multiples of 2
Turn your work to the right side, so as to be able to work around the lower edges and attach yarn with a sl st to Row 1 of our front panel.
With MC
Row 1: Ch 1, sc in each st around the edges, join with a sl st to beginning ch.
FO MC, using yarn CC
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join with a sl st to ch 1
Row 3: Chain 26, sc in second CH from hook, sc in remaining chains. 25 sc
locate the next 2 sts on the body of the vest, sl st into those 2 sts, rotate your work, skip the 2 sts with sl st
Slip stitch into the part with RED arrows
Row 4: Working in BLO, sc each st across, turn. 25 sc
Row 5: Sc in BLO across until you get to the body of the vest, locate the next 2 sts on the body of the vest, sl st into those 2 sts, rotate your work, skip the 2 sts with sl st
Row 6 till the end, repeat Row 4 and Row 5
Sew the two sides together
Fasten off.
Section 3: Sleeves
Join yarn MC at the armpit with a sl st
Working in rounds
Round 1: Ch 1, sc in next 2 sts, *ch 2, skip 2 sts, sc in next 2 sts, repeat from * till the end of the round, join with a sl st
Aim for multiple of 4
Round 2: Ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, *ch2, skip 2 sts dc, in next 2 sts, repeat from * till the end of the round, join with a sl st
Round 3 – 23: Repeat Round 1 and Round 2
