How about a one-piece crochet cardigan pattern that requires absolutely no sewing? That sounds like lot of fun if you ask me. I am thrilled to show share my free crochet sweater pattern with you all.

I have always wanted to make a diamond shape cardigan but could not get a perfect shape to fit my imagination. So, I thought, why not make the diamonds pop out with some beautiful bobbles. It was as if I just got the best inspiration and could not put the pattern down until the main panel was completed, including the bobbles.

Inspiration: One piece crochet cardigan pattern

The inspiration behind this crochet cardigan made in one piece and name came from my son, who loves to play with bobbles and would always be excited when I played along. I love the well detailed Bobbles and thought these are the real bobbles that my son can not bust!!! Also, I do not like sewing in lots of ends and decided to make this a no sew cardigan pattern.

Initially, I thought I’d call it “don’t bust my bobbles” but then, these bobbles don’t need any of those as they are here to stay

Real Bobble Cardigan was made with Double knit yarn, which is a #3 weight using Stylecraft Yarns in 3 different shades. You can absolutely make yours using any Double Knit (#3) weight of yarns and in Colors of your choice.

This pattern is graded from XS through 5XL using Bust measurements which are taken in Inches.

Special Stitches

Bobble stitch – (Puff = dc5tog)*Yarn over (yo), insert hook in indicated st, yo, draw yarn through the stitch, yo, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook, repeat from * 4 more times in the same sts, (you should have 6 loops on your hook now) yo, and draw the yarn through all 6 loops on your hook. Sizing and Fitting

1. For all sizes, try your cardigan on once you get to the first row of the body

2. If the sleeve is too tight, do crochet 2 or more rows before joining and without an increase

3. For a longer cardigan, you can increase the number of repeats for each color , best done in the body (do remember to match the numbers with that of your sleeve)

4. For sleeves, best place to adjust the length is before bobbles and for wider sleeves, you can go done a hook size
