Free crochet coaster: Easy Mug Rug

Sometimes, I feel like making quick projects as gifts for loved ones. This easy-free crochet coaster pattern has been my go-to as it works up fast, and in no time, I have beautiful Textured Coasters as gifts.
This crochet coaster would teach you a quick technique for archiving beautiful textures. Talking about this unique method, I’ve made a few patterns using the same method, and the finished look is such a sight to behold.

Materials for this Free Coaster Pattern
Yarn
Stylecraft Special Aran, #4 lightweight (100% Acrylic, 322 yards/295 m per 3.5 oz/100g Ball)
Color A – Mustard
Color B – White
Estimated Total Yardage
30 yards for Color A
40 Yards for Color B
Hook and other Materials
– US Size H/8 (5 mm) Crochet Hook
– Darning needle
Gauge – 15 sts over 8 rows = 10 cm/4” made in dc.
Gauge is not crucial to this project.
Pattern Notes
– Please kindly read through the pattern before starting.
– Similar #4 weight yarn can be substituted
– Chains at the beginning of the rows count as a stitch.
– You are welcome to use any other colors but a minimum of 2 colors would make the pattern pop beautifully.

Finished Measurements = 5” by 4” without the fringes, Fringes = 1”
Construction Note
The pattern is worked in 2 different sections, the first is the Filet, and the second is the Weaving of the chains made through the filet section, section 3 adds the fringes.
Section 2: Weaving in your chains
You can decide to complete the first section and then weave your chains through.
Instructions
Section 1: Filet
Row 1: With A, ch 27, dc in 5th ch from hook, * ch 1, skip next ch, dc in next ch, rep from * to end. turn. 13 dc, 12 ch 1 sp
Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), skip next ch sp, dc in next st, *ch 1, skip ch sp, dc in next st, rep from * to last ch 1 sp, ch 1, skip ch sp, dc in last st, turn. 13 dc, 12 ch 1 sp
Rows 3 – 10: Rep Row 2.
Fasten off
Section 2: Weaving
Leave a tail of 2”, Ch 25, leave about 2” of yarn and cut yarn.
Make 9 more separate chains, and set them aside.
Thread the beginning 2” through a darning needle, pass the darning needle *below 1 dc and over the next Dc, repeat from * to end of the row
Repeat this step with each row.
To secure the chains, sew the 2” left on either side of the chains to each end of the Row.-
Section 3: FringesCut out 40 pieces of 10” of yarn (depending on how long you want your fringes to be)
Pick 2 and fold into half.
Pass your hook through the last st on each row. Fig 5.
Slip the yarn (fringe) and the (tail – 2”) left from the chains through the hook.
Make a slip knot to secure the fringe alongside the 2” left from the chain.
Repeat the process for each row.
Trim off excess yarn.
Sew in Ends.
