Summary of the Reversible Stitch

This Revisible Chevron Granny Shawl is made by crocheting two “sides” on each row… Side A is made using granny stitch clusters, while Side B  is made using V stitches.

After the first two rows, Side A will also join or connect to Side B. When crocheting Side B, stitches are made only into Side B ch 1 spaces

Tips for changing colors

  • Switch to the next color when making the last pull-through of dc. This works for both middle of the row and at the end of the row.
  • If at the end of the row, make one or two slip stitches after switching to a new color and then fasten off.

Keep the unused yarn on the other side. For example, when you have the B side facing you and are working with color ”A,” make sure to keep the unused yarn on the A side.

The image above has the unused yarn facing you; pull it to the other side to avoid “Bleeding.”

Since the color change was made during the last pull-through, you make chain 1 with the new color.

I have added a short video of the steps in the main shawl to help you make this Crochet Granny Chevron Shawl beautifully. See the link in the PDF.

Crochet Granny Chevron Triangular Shawl Pattern Notes

  1. Please kindly read through the pattern before starting.
  2. Chains at the beginning of the rows count as stitches.
  3. Stitch count is written after each row.
  4. The pattern is worked in rows, with turning done after every 2 rows.
  5. This pattern uses 1 or 2 colors per row for the granny side and just one color on the other side for the V st side. This method differs slightly from the “conventional” crochet but is easy to master.
