Frosted Window Crochet Ear Warmer Free Pattern
If you loved the motifs from the Frosted Window Crochet Blanket, here is a smaller project that brings the same wintry look into something you can wear.

The Frosted Window Crochet Ear Warmer is made from beautiful circular motifs, transformed into squares and joined to form a cosy band. The combination of icy blue, navy and soft neutral shades gives it that frosted window effect that inspired the original collection.
It is a lovely project for using several colours together without needing large amounts of yarn, and with sizes for children, teens and adults, you can make one for almost everyone.
The pattern is rated intermediate and is written in US crochet terminology. Frosted Window Ear Warmer

About the Frosted Window Crochet Ear Warmer
Instead of crocheting the ear warmer as one long rectangle, this design begins with individual circular motifs.
Each circle is worked through several textured rounds before being squared off. The finished squares are then joined side by side to create the band. Finally, the first and last motifs are joined together and a simple edging is added around the top and bottom.
The result is a warm ear warmer with plenty of texture and that distinctive Frosted Window look.

You can use any worsted weight yarn in colours of your choice.
The prototype was made using:
Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice

Try to keep the yarn weight consistent throughout the project so that your motifs remain even.

Four squares are arranged in a straight line and joined together to create a rectangular strip. The fourth motif is then joined to the first motif to turn the strip into a continuous ear warmer band.

Make It Your Own
Although the Frosted Window colours give this ear warmer its wintry feel, this motif is a great opportunity to experiment with your own colour combinations.
Try soft neutrals for an everyday version, traditional red, cream and green for Christmas, or use scraps of coordinating worsted weight yarn to make each round a different colour.
And if you are already making the Frosted Window Blanket, this is a fun way to create a matching accessory from the same colour palette.
A Quick Winter Crochet Project
