Pattern Notes

  1. Please kindly read through the pattern before starting.
  2. Chains at the rounds’ beginning count as a stitch.
  3. Stitch count is written after each row.
  4. The pattern is worked in 2 sections.
  5. Section 1: You make one large square.
  6. Section 2: The square is turned into a diamond shape with extensions added to two of the sides to create a rectangle.
  7. After this, the side is joined to create a sleeve opening, and then a few rows of ribbing are added.
  8. This pattern uses each color per round, a little different from the “conventional” crochet, but easy to master.
  9. Side A refers to the part made using the “Granny Stitch.”
  10. Side B refers to the side made using “V stitches.”

Construction note

  • This shrug is made in 2 parts.
  • First part, a square is made
  • In the second part, each side of the square is turned into a diamond.
  • After this, another side extension is then added, turning the piece into a rectangle. 
  • Part 3: The shrug border is then added.
