Crochet Summer Hat Pattern

This crochet summer hat pattern is the perfect project to make in preparation for summer. The beautiful texture and use of crochet stitches make sit an interesting project idea. I’ve always wanted a cute summer hat that is breezy and fashionable at the same time.

I couldn’t find these two qualities in a hat and thought to myself that I can make one for myself. This hat is fun to make and easy to adapt to fit different age groups

Comes in 5 different sizes – infants, Toddlers, Child size, Teens, Small Adults and Large size Adult. I am particularly happy to finally present you with this cut hat adorned with a band which can be used separately.

My breezy summer hat can also be made in 2 or more colors.

Adding Wire to your crochet summer hat

Measure the circumference of Brim, add 4”

Cut out the wire of this similar length.
(Ex. Hat circumference of 39” + 4” =43” of wire.
Round 31: Ch 1, working over Wire, sc in each around, with 15 sts
to complete, join ends of Wire by twisting, use Tape to secure ends to prevent wires from sticking out, cut any excess Wire, sc in last 15, join -135 (144, 162, 180) sc.
Fasten off, weave in ends.

Use Starch spray to stiffen hat if desired. For best results use either
mannequin head or balloon blown up to desired size.

Flower – For your summer crochet hat pattern

Round 1: With B, wrap yarn loosely around a pen or little finger 15 times (this creates a thick magic ring); insert hook through center of loops, ch 1, slide loops off, 15 sc around ring, join—15 sc.

Round 2: Ch 1, 15 sc around ring and previous scs (this will help create a puffier ring), join, turn—15 sc.
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in same, ch 2, [skip 2, sc in next, ch 2] 4 times, join,
turn—5 sc, 5 ch-2 sps.
Round 4: Ch 1, *(sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc) in next ch-2 sps (petal made),
skip 1; repeat from * around, join—5 “petals”.
Fasten off.
Round 5: Join to 1st skipped sc in Round 3, with petals facing and
