How to crochet scrubbies
Recently, I have fallen in love with making quick and easy crochet scrubbies! Scrubbies are great for washing dishes or exfoliating body scrubbers.
How Do You Crochet A Square Scrubby?
Crocheting a square scrubby or any other shape is a straightforward and rewarding project, ideal for beginners looking to make practical items for home use or gifts. Start with the foundation row until you reach the desired height.
Here’s a simple guide to crocheting a square scrubby:
Get your Materials: Yarn, a crochet hook, and scissors. The type of yarn will determine a lot!
Best yarn for a crochet scrubby
When selecting yarn for a crochet scrubby, the key factors are durability, texture, and care requirements. Here are some of the top choices for crochet scrubby yarn, each offering different benefits depending on the intended use:
Nylon Netting Yarn: Nylon netting, often sold in spools or cuts, is incredibly durable and abrasive, making it excellent for heavy-duty kitchen scrubbies. It can tackle tough stains and grease on pots and pans without damaging the surface. Due to its stiffness, it’s a bit more challenging but unbeatable for scrubbing performance.
Cotton Yarn: While not as abrasive as nylon or polyester scrubby yarn, cotton is soft, absorbent, and durable, making it ideal for face and body scrubbies. It’s gentle on the skin and can be combined with other yarns for dual-texture scrubbies. Cotton is also machine washable, making it easy to clean and reuse.
