For a quick crochet cowl scarf pattern, a chunky weight yarn is perfect. The prototype was made using Amigo Giga, which is a chunky weight yarn. It is a #6 (100% HB Acrylic, 95 m, 103 yds per 150 g /5.2 oz)

Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from the hook and in each ch across, turn. 74 (84, 94) hdc
Row 2: Ch 1, hdc in first st, xhdc across until the last st, hdc in last st, turn. 36 (41, 46) xhdc, 2 hdc

Do not fasten off

Round 1: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, aim for 2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc in each corner, join with a sl st to the beginning ch.
