For a quick crochet cowl scarf pattern, a chunky-weight yarn is perfect. The prototype was made using Amigo Giga, which is a chunky weight yarn. It is a #6 (100% HB Acrylic, 95 m, 103 yds per 150 g /5.2 oz)

Do not fasten off

Edging

  • Crocheting around the whole Piece 

Round 1: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, aim for 2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc in each corner, join with a sl st to the beginning ch.

Buttonholes

Turn – crocheting across the short edge.

Row 1: Ch 1, sc in first st, *ch 2, skip next st, sc in next 3 sts, rep from * to end. 

Fasten off

Sew the button to the lower band of the cowl, as shown above.

How to assemble

  • Fold the part with the buttonhole over the opposite end.
