The finished mini crochet Easter basket measures 3” across the Base and 4” tall.
Ideally, you can make the mini Easter basket pattern using any weight of yarn. But keep in mind that the thinner the yarn, the smaller the basket, and the thicker the yarn, the bigger the basket.

- Chains at the beginning of Rounds or Rows do not count as a stitch.

Mini crochet Easter basket Pattern
Section 1 – Base, Using MC
Round 1: In a Magic ring, ch 2, 12 hdc, join. 12 hdc.
Or ch 4, 12 hdc in 4th ch from hook, join—12 hdc.
Round 2: Ch 2, 2 hdc in each around, join—24 hdc.
Round 3: Ch 2, *hdc in next, 2 hdc in next; repeat from * around, join—36 hdc.
Round 4: Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join—36 hdc.
Round 5: Ch 2, *hdc in next 2, 2 hdc in next; repeat from * around, join—48 hdc
Section 2: Body
Round 1: Ch 1, in BLO, hdc in each st around, join. 48 hdc
- Place a stitch marker at the end of the round, and move with each round.
- Crocheting in the 3rd loop from here and through round 8
Rounds 2 – 8: Hdc in each st’s 3rd loop around, 48 hdc
Sl st to the next ch to bridge the height gap difference.
Round 9: Ch 1, in 3rd loop, sl st in each st around, join 48 st
Fasten off.
Basket Handle
With MC, chain 5.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. 4 sc
Rows 2 – 24: In BLO, sc in each st across, turn 4 sc
Fasten off.
To assemble
- Sew the handle to the basket, making sure the handles are joined at an equal distance from each other.
- Count 20 sts away from the just joined handle and secure the other side of the handle to the basket.
